An England rugby star visited a local coffee shop. Ethan Roots volunteered at Nellie’s Coffee Bar, supporting Blue Elephant Future Steps CiC, a group that helps young people in need.

The visit brought a lot of excitement to Barnstaple as locals were eager to see Ethan making coffee and learn about Blue Elephant’s work. The event was deemed a great success for everyone involved.

Blue Elephant supports young adults leaving care, helping them prepare for life by focusing on independence and work skills. Ethan praised the quality of the care provided.

Ethan will return to Barnstaple on March 12 to host “An Evening with Ethan” at Barnstaple Rugby Club. This event will raise money for Blue Elephant.

He will also lead a training session for kids in care, with some young rugby players joining as well. This demonstrates his dedication to the cause, extending his support beyond the rugby field.

Lucy Squire, who directs care at Blue Elephant CiC, spoke about Ethan’s help, saying his support means a great deal and brings awareness to their work. The funds raised will greatly support young people.

Blue Elephant helps kids leaving care, many of whom lack support at this stage, teaching important life and job skills. They build confidence, help them transition into adulthood, and maintain a strong support network.
