Callum Clements, 26, received a suspended sentence and must pay £500 after his dog attacked a Labrador in Erith.

Callum Clements, 26, lived on Mulgrave Road. On March 6, the court sentenced him to 24 weeks, suspended for 18 months.
The court also told Clements to pay £500 as compensation for what happened.
The Pit Bull involved was named Nina. Willesden Magistrates’ Court ordered Nina be destroyed. The prosecutor called it a horrific incident that happened near the student’s house. She said it was a terrifying situation.
The student was getting ready for college when his sister called him to the alley. She said a Pit Bull was being aggressive. When he got there, Nina attacked Sasha, biting Sasha’s neck and shaking her.
He said Nina was “foaming at the mouth.” He kicked Nina, trying to stop the attack. He put his hand on Sasha’s neck to try and protect her. It was for Sasha’s safety during the attack.
He said he felt Nina wanted to kill Sasha. It lasted several minutes before someone from Clements’ home secured Nina with a rope. Clements admitted owning a dangerous dog and possessing a fighting dog.
Clements said he didn’t know Nina was banned. He got Nina without knowledge of her breed, and he expressed deep remorse for the attack. He felt truly sorry for what occurred there.
