The Stag’s Head pub in Esh Winning closes after Michael and Tracy Miller chose not to renew their lease after five years.

The couple chose not to renew their lease, and the pub served its last drinks on February 9th which was a Sunday evening.
Michael and Tracy Miller posted on Facebook earlier this month that their lease ended November 18, 2024. They had been running the pub for five years. They decided in May not to extend the lease.
Star Pubs and Bars wanted them to stay and tried to reach an agreement, but failed. They stayed while Star Pubs and Bars looked for a replacement, not wanting the pub to close.
The search could not go on forever, though. They thanked their regular customers for their support and for helping them create special memories. They asked for privacy during this uncertain time.
The pair made the pub family and dog-friendly. They also added food to the menu there which was a brand new offering.
Regular customers showed their sadness at the news. One person said the couple was always welcoming and wished them luck in the future. Another person said they would be missed a lot, and they thought this change was bad for the village, hoping to see them all again very soon.
Star Pubs and Bars has been asked for their comments.
