Essex Crime Sweep: Nine Arrested in Major Operation Across County

Police made nine arrests recently. These arrests happened in Colchester and Walton. A Colchester man, age 25, got arrested too. He is suspected of actual bodily harm. Also, he faces charges of controlling behavior. Plus, he is suspected of three counts of damage.

This followed reports from January. The reports involved damage to a victim’s property. He is still in custody right now. A 39-year-old Walton man was also arrested. He was wanted for sexual assault. The victim was a child under 13.

The Operational Support Group found him. Officers questioned the Walton man later. They released him on bail. Other arrests involved shoplifting in Chelmsford. Their investigation is still ongoing.

Theft occurred at Stansted Airport, too. Police arrested a man in Loughton. He is suspected of non-fatal strangulation. Supt Phil Stinger commented on the arrests.

He spoke about serious sexual offenses investigations needing teamwork. He said officers must speak to communities. Hearing their concerns matters to him. Proactive policing prevents crime. This keeps everyone safe. The public can support the police best this way.
