Hey, listen to this! Essex Police has a special CVU team. These officers target law-breaking drivers and watch for criminals using roads.

The CVU officers recently issued many reports, giving 83 traffic offence reports earlier this month in Essex. Six drivers got arrested for drunk driving.

Police did “Operation Tramline” last week, which is a road safety thing. They used a borrowed truck from Highways England. The truck’s height helped them see into vehicles and stop drivers breaking the law.

The team stopped 88 vehicles total and gave those 83 traffic offence reports. The reports covered various driving issues, starting on Monday, February 3rd.

Twenty drivers used phones illegally, and seventeen didn’t wear seatbelts. These are “Fatal Four” offenses, which often cause serious accidents.

Six people were arrested for drunk driving, another “Fatal Four” offense. Two more got arrested for drug dealing. Bad driving was also a big problem.

Nine drivers got reported for driving carelessly, endangering everyone nearby on the road. Drivers must follow driving time rules.

Eight drivers stopped on the hard shoulder and used slip roads for breaks. This is unsafe and against the law, as other drivers might not see them easily, which can cause a collision.

Essex Police prioritizes road safety. They will keep patrolling and enforcing laws. Improving road safety helps everybody’s trips.
