A Chelmsford shoplifter is banned from John Lewis and Co-op for two years after stealing hundreds of pounds worth of goods.

Police arrested Archer in January after an inquiry led by the Chelmsford Town Centre Team. She faced charges because of her actions. Archer admitted to the theft charges in January.
She received a five-month sentence, but the court suspended this sentence for one year.
Essex Police obtained a Criminal Behaviour Order that bans Archer from specific stores. She cannot enter John Lewis and Co-op in Chelmsford, with this ban lasting for two years, starting February 19.
Sergeant Graham Thomas talked about business theft, emphasizing that stealing hurts hardworking local businesses. Police are committed to stopping these crimes.
Shoplifting impacts all stores, large or small, and Essex Police takes this seriously. They arrested almost 1,400 shoplifters last year, leading to over 2,500 charges filed in court.
Police solved more cases than the year before, and they secured more Criminal Behaviour Orders.
Police will act strongly if people break these orders, as breaching a CBO has consequences. They are serious about enforcing these laws.
