Nathan Gill, former Reform UK Wales leader, faces bribery charges after a counter-terrorism investigation; court appearance set.

The Metropolitan Police made the announcement. Gill, who is 51, faces serious allegations. He is charged with conspiracy to commit bribery and faces eight counts of bribery itself, charges that fall under specific UK laws.
He must appear in court soon. His hearing is set for Monday at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. Police interviewed him in March 2022 about these bribery allegations.
The police did more investigation. The Crown Prosecution Service approved charges after the counter terrorism division reviewed it. Then, they charged Gill according to protocol.
Gill’s political past is quite varied. He led UKIP’s Welsh branch between 2014 and 2016. Later he changed his political allegiances several times.
He was a Senedd member between 2016 and 2017. Also, he served in the European Parliament from 2014 to 2020.
He left UKIP in 2019 and joined Farage’s Brexit Party, which later became Reform UK. He got elected to the European Parliament.
In 2021, he led Reform UK Wales before Senedd elections. Reports say he left after failing to win a seat. Reform UK Wales confirmed he’s no longer a member and won’t comment on the case.
