Rutland County Council approved plans to rejuvenate The Fox and Hounds pub and hotel in Exton, including new rooms and bar.

They got permission to do some cool stuff. Rutland County Council approved the plans last Monday, which was February 10th, by the way.
They’re turning the barn into rooms. It’s currently used for storage, but the pub already has three fancy rooms, and they will add four more in the barn.
The barn’s roof needs some work, and they will add insulation when they redo it. They’re also putting in a new staircase because right now, you can’t even get upstairs.
The owners think this will help a lot. It saves the old building; otherwise, it might become housing, like other barns nearby.
There’s a wall in the bar right now that splits the historic bar in half. They want to take that wall down, which means the bar can be used again.
The current bar isn’t great; it messes up the original shape. So, they’re removing it and will put in a new till for service.
Hotels are important, really, and they help the community. Locals in Exton would probably love this change, especially the return of the public bar.
The pub needs better toilets too, as the old ones are not good. They are thinking about a new car system where cars could enter from the green and leave onto Maltings Yard.
