Okay, so I saw a traffic report covering December 2024 to February 2025. It shows speeding locations and traffic patterns, as well as vehicle speeds. The report flags potential safety problems.

They tracked speeds on Bristol Road in January 2025, observing speeds of 100 mph and 80 mph at night. Someone even hit 95 mph on Parrett Way too. Here’s a breakdown of some areas that were monitored.

First, The Broadway. From December 9-22, 2024, they counted cars, and again from January 20 to February 2, 2025. Around 70,308 cars came in and about 74,227 cars went out. The average speed entering was 24.22 mph, and going out, it was 21.51 mph.

The max speeds recorded were 63 mph and 62 mph. During the second study, most cars stayed below 26 mph, but the highest speed recorded was 43 mph. While most people obeyed the speed limit, some speeding still happened.

Next, Bristol Road was monitored from December 9-22, 2024, and again from January 6-20, 2025. About 72,726 cars came in, with traffic peaking between 6-9 AM and 4:30-7 PM. The average incoming speed was almost 25 mph, but one car hit 87 mph very early in the morning.

In the second study, outgoing speed averaged 24.50 mph. However, people hit 100 mph coming in, and someone went 80 mph going out late at night or early morning. These speeds are a significant safety concern.

Now, Parrett Way data came from December 23, 2024, to January 6, 2025. Around 21,059 cars came in, while about 30,767 cars went out, showing it’s a common route. Average speeds were near 26/27 mph.

Someone went 95 mph going out which is far too fast! While it might be a one-time occurrence, they may need to monitor the area more closely. Still, most cars stayed under 30 mph.

Okay, Durleigh Road was checked from December 23 to January 6. About 33,565 cars came in, and average speeds stayed between 25-27 mph. Drivers often sped past 50 mph at night and early morning, and the highest speed recorded was 60 mph.

Let’s look at Homberg Way/NDR. January 6-20 traffic data showed about 74,390 cars came in, with an average speed of 25.20 mph. Speeds were steady during the day, but early mornings/late nights saw speeds over 40 mph, with a highest recorded speed of 72 mph.

Lastly, Rhode Lane data showed 1,200 cars entered from January 20 to February 2. The average speed was just under 20 mph, and most people followed speed limits. However, somebody reached 51 mph, though over 90% of vehicles went 30 mph or less.

Councillor Mander said these reports help them see road use and identify potential danger spots. He also noted that the high speeds are concerning, especially since these locations are in residential areas with pedestrians. He intends to improve road safety.
