A family mourns the loss of a 14 year old girl, remembered for her kindness and love of art and animals.

Evie’s death occurred on her mother’s birthday. Her mom, Sheena, now considers it their “special day.” Evie had pulmonary hypertension and chronic lung disease since birth. Evie needed oxygen at all times because of it.
Despite her health, Evie lived fully. Her family told the Northern Echo she was always happy. Evie loved Taylor Swift and Harry Potter. Those who knew her called her a bright star, according to her aunt, Danielle Falconer, who spoke for the family.
Danielle shared the family’s tribute to Evie; they miss her dearly, including her dog, Little. He waits on her bed, confused by her absence. Evie loved animals more than people, Danielle said, and she was kind to everyone.
Evie had health problems her whole life. Her death was unexpected and sudden, creating a huge void in everyone’s lives. Danielle believes the kindest people often pass away first.
The family started a fundraiser led by Danielle. They want to give Evie a good farewell. They have almost reached their fundraising goal and are grateful for people’s support after Evie’s death which showed how much she impacted lives.
Evie leaves behind her mom, Sheena, her sister Mia and brothers Noah and Leon. Many other family and friends will miss her too.
Danielle thanked Chris Layfield, Evie’s art teacher. Chris ran Open Door Art, which makes art accessible, and helped Evie find passion and express herself through art. He supported her a lot.
Chris said he was heartbroken to learn of Evie’s death, having worked with Evie since last summer. He remembers her as happy and smiley and sends thoughts to her family. Chris said Evie was funny and kind and told her to keep singing.
