A new poetry hub is opening in Farnham Library, offering a space for all to share and write poetry in Surrey.

People can share and write poems there. All backgrounds are welcome at the hub. The Surrey Poet Laureateship runs the scheme. They want poetry in communities, and Adam Gary thinks the launch was great.
The launch celebrated poetry, community, and creativity. Waverley’s mayor came to the event. The session had laughter and discussions.
People gave great feedback about the hub. One person loved having a hub and found the atmosphere inviting. The space felt warm and creative.
The first meeting explored a Shakespeare sonnet and examined themes from Oscar Wilde. People then wrote their own poems. The session gave encouragement to all.
Farnham Poetry Hub is among Surrey’s series. Sessions are two hours long and happen each Wednesday at 11 am in the library.
Sessions welcome anyone, including people new to poetry and experienced poets. Each week explores different authors and themes. The aim is to enrich everyone’s experience.
