A group will form tomorrow. It will help the smallest nature reserve in Leeds. This is the Friends of Farnley Fish Pond. They need volunteers from the public soon.

The group will clean up litter together. They also want to get money for improvements. Planting will happen plus problem reporting. The group will do other tasks as well.

Tomorrow they organize the group properly. They need officers like a chair quickly. A treasurer and committee are also needed. The meeting begins at 6pm. It is at Farnley Community Centre. Everyone can attend.

The pond area looks much better now. People ignored it for years, but that changed. They plan to add a path later. New benches and bins are also coming soon.

Contact Peter Allison to join the group. His email is peter.allison@farnleycommunitycentre.co.uk. You can call them at 0113 460 4702.

Soldiers created Farnley Fish Pond in 1815. They were returning from the Napoleonic wars then. The pond never had fish originally. Someone added carp recently, though.
