Plans for late-night opening at Smash Down in Leeds sparks concerns over noise and litter for local residents.

Sunday to Thursday, they want a midnight closing. Friday and Saturday could see 4 AM closing times. Leeds council’s health team said no.
They worry about the neighbors’ flats. These flats are right next to the shop. Some are even above. Cars arrive late and park right below bedrooms. Noise bothers people.
Car radios play often. Doors slam shut. Engines rev loudly. People talk on phones. Neighbors also sent in letters with concerns.
One person wrote about the nuisance. It will bother everybody living upstairs. Late hours are a problem. A committee will talk about the application.
The meeting happens Tuesday, February 18. Police reached a deal to prevent problems. This deal addresses public troubles. Woodhouse Enterprises owns the shop.
They claim students need late-night food. Students live close by and want it. The shop application says they have no outside seats.
This means no noise outside the building. Customers are inside briefly. They stay for ten to twenty minutes.
