A fire damaged an outbuilding at Jimmy Savile’s former property in Glen Coe, Scotland, prompting an investigation.

Emergency services responded around 5:30 PM Saturday after reports of a fire in an outbuilding. The A82 road closed in both directions due to the fire.
Police Scotland confirmed that services put out the fire. They also said the fire service extinguished the blaze. Now, they are investigating the fire’s cause.
Savile bought the cottage, named Allt Na Reigh, in 1998. He died in 2011 before facing justice, and allegations revealed him as a prolific sex offender.
Savile worked as a BBC host plus a British DJ. Abuse reports surfaced after his death. Investigations exposed widespread sexual abuse incidents, and victims were as young as two years old.
The property was auctioned back in 2013 as a refurbished cottage with scenic views. It included an outbuilding, garden, and parking.
The current owner plans to rebuild the property and has permission for a new four-bedroom house. It will honor another owner, climber Dr. MacInnes, who invented mountain rescue tools.
