Leeds Council approves plan to convert space into flats opposite Pudsey Cenotaph, aiming to revitalize the town center.

Two one-bed places are planned. The first and second floors are being changed. Changes will occur inside and outside.
Number 9 Chapeltown was next door. It had a sports bar and club there. The space was for its toilets and storage needs. It closed in July 2024.
The plan uses empty space well. It sits on a busy street. Designers think it helps the town. The area looks better, they wrote.
The project boosts the town center’s life. Planners believe it fits the rules. It shouldn’t hurt neighbors, either.
The council agrees it’s okay. It follows local guidelines. You can see the full plans soon.
They finished some work before this one. Shops on the ground floor changed into flats. The address is still 11-15 Chapeltown.
