Flintshire implements a new waste policy starting April 2025. It aims to increase recycling by inspecting black bag waste.

Flintshire wants a sustainable, circular economy. It’s part of their Resource & Waste Strategy. Waste impacts the environment a lot. Recycling more and wasting less helps reduce impact.
Many residents already recycle around 62% of waste. A recent analysis shows more can be done. About 58% of black bin waste is recyclable.
Food, glass, cans, paper, plastics, and cardboard can be recycled. Use curbside collection or recycling centers. Wales wants to reuse, recycle, or compost 70% of waste.
The old target was 64%. Flintshire hasn’t met targets since 2019. Services need to change to reach the 70% goal.
Expect to open bags for inspection at recycling centers. Staff will check for recyclable items inside them. If they find recycling, you might need to sort it at home.
Everyone must dispose of waste correctly. Flintshire offers extensive recycling options. Correct steps should prevent increased waste or illegal dumping.
