South Holland Council reports significant drop in fly-tipping incidents thanks to new plan and awareness.

Councillor Casson spoke about the drop, saying actions make a difference and people take pride in their towns. He thanked everyone for helping too. Fly-tipping fell from 2,732 to 2,402, which the council called “significant.”
Crowland and Deeping went down 51%, while Pinchbeck and Surfleet dropped 33%. Spalding St Mary’s fell 25%. Residents wanted action on Ayscough Avenue, and they also wanted it on Sough Avenue where fridges and junk got dumped.
Kingdom patrols helped a lot, raising waste disposal awareness. Kingdom issued fines to offenders, and the council also ran an ad campaign. This educated folks on fly-tipping issues. The council thanked local cleanup helpers.
Kingdom started in 2023, targeting fly-tipping and litter. Fines fund the “cost-free” project. Ticket receivers can’t appeal. The program faced some criticism earlier; some thought Kingdom focused on small things.
The council earned little from fines, getting about £7,041 in a year, which is less than £20 each day. They get 10% of Kingdom’s fine money. They served 1,162 fines in a year overall, about three each day.
Volunteer litter pickers felt disappointed, tired of cleaning the same spots that would quickly refill with trash. The council asks people to report fly-tipping online.
