Lambeth Foodbanks launches “What One Thing?” challenge during Lent and Ramadan to raise funds and community awareness.

Oasis Hub Waterloo asks for community help. They are part of Lambeth Foodbanks. The challenge is called “What One Thing?”. It will run in March and April.
People should pick one thing to give up. Do this daily, weekly, or monthly. Donate the money you saved to the food banks. Some people will skip morning coffee.
Others will avoid buying lunch. Maybe someone won’t buy an extra item.
Lent and Ramadan happen at the same time. Lent begins on March 5 and ends April 19. Ramadan is expected to begin February 28. It lasts 29 days.
Lambeth Foodbanks wants people to reflect. Christians and Muslims fast during this period. It teaches compassion and generosity. They want a stronger community.
Last year, Lambeth Foodbanks gave out 27,000 food parcels. Children lived in 36% of those households. Lambeth Foodbanks said food parcels are temporary.
They want to help people solve the cause of their hunger. Anyone can join the challenge. It is adaptable to fit their situation.
