Chris Dale passed away in the hospital at 83 years old. His wife, Isobel, and daughters, Charlotte and Naomi, stayed by his side. This happened on Saturday, February 1st.

His funeral is set for Monday, March 10th, starting at 12:30 PM at Wyre Forest Crematorium. Charlotte said it will be a happy event, celebrating his life. He wanted people to wear bright clothes and didn’t want anyone in black.

Chris Dale held popular gatherings while managing the hotel, which stood on Bewdley Hill. Weddings and dances happened there often, and they also had Thursday dances. Live bands played music in the 70s.

He organized a 24-hour disco in the 80s, where fifteen DJs played music. It raised a lot of money for several charities. Charlotte Dale described him as having a big personality; he could easily make friends everywhere he went.

He loved his wife and family a lot, enjoyed sailing, and read often. Chris had lots of knowledge. Brian Davies, who runs Brian’s Blog on Facebook, called it a loss for Kidderminster and thinks the town will miss him.

Sarah Beadsworth, who works with Cancer Research UK, said Chris worked hard for them and helped their Wyre Forest group for years. She said he cared about others, supported his family, and it was a pleasure to know him. People will miss him very much. Donations are being gathered to support Charcot-Marie-Tooth UK and the Born Free charity.
