Residents of Dinas Powys are experiencing a bad smell. Locals are worried about the cause of the mysterious odor.

Ashley Halls noticed the smell near Eastbrook station. Charlotte Jane thought it came from Cog Moors. Raindrop Dorson suspected burning plastic. Corrina David likened the odor to gas. Leah Gibbs felt ill because of it.
Joanne James smelled it at the Tesco. Hayle Harper described the smell as burning plastic, and she smelled this near the train station. The smell was terrible.
Councillor Chris Franks posted on Facebook. He mentioned many complaints about bad smells, with people suspecting Cog Moors Treatment as the source. Plaid Councillors asked the Vale Council for help. They also contacted Welsh Water.
Councillor Franks spoke to the Penarth Times, stating the Council and Welsh Water showed little interest. Plaid councillors will keep working on this issue. Welsh Water claims Cog Moors is not the cause.
Cog Moors treats wastewater, serving Dinas Powys, Sully, Penarth, Barry, and west Cardiff. The Vale Council knows about the smell. They reported this issue to Welsh Water and will help find the source.
Welsh Water stated Cog Moors works correctly. They said they know of no recent odor problems but will keep an eye on things.
