Plans for five houses on Foulridge’s Green Belt site approved. Project includes nature improvements and construction rules.

The land is on Skipton Road in Foulridge. Lake Burwain and the reservoir are nearby; mansions border the site to the north and east, with more big homes to the northwest.
The land used to be a garden center on the A56 road’s east side. This spot is in the Green Belt near Colne, south of Foulridge, and is unused land.
They thought about three big houses, but five smaller houses seem better. They will meet local needs well and fit the current market better.
The five houses need more space on the land. However, the houses are much smaller, so the total size of buildings goes down.
The new houses include two semi-detached houses with three bedrooms each. Also, there are three detached houses with four bedrooms each; all houses have garages and gardens, and off-street parking exists too.
Drawings show the houses set back from the A56, shielded by green areas. This blocks the view of the highway and reservoir.
Pendle Council approved the plan and the planning officer, Athira Pushpagaran, agreed. It’s okay for Green Belt land as the land was used before, and the project will help nature.
The developer must follow an agreement covering 30 years of nature upkeep. They will maintain the biodiversity improvements.
The approval included 14 rules. These mainly concern the construction schedule and address routine building steps.
