Frank Stephen presented his John O’Groats Trail walk to Spittal SWI, raising £35,500 for Alzheimer Scotland.

Frank Stephen gave a presentation, sharing slides of his John O’Groats Trail walk. He raised funds for Alzheimer Scotland, and he is a retired vet. He finished his 14-day walk in May 2024.
His fundraising totaled £35,500, which includes gift aid money received. Members asked Frank many questions. Frank and Linda Levack judged the competitions in person.
Ruth Manson won the caramel sauce contest, with Liz Hewitson securing second place. Heather Carberry earned third, and Elizabeth Holman came in fourth. Anne Gunn won the Valentine’s card contest.

They held a whist drive on January 31, with Alexander Longmuir acting as cardmaster. There were almost nine tables of players. Doris Gunn won the ladies’ section with 176 points.
Eva Swanson secured second for ladies with 168 points, and Sally Thomson got third with 165. Mary Saint won ladies’ consolation at 130. Liz Henderson (acting) won the men’s section with a score of 167.
Alexander Longmuir secured second for the gents with 164. Nicola Campbell (acting) also had 164, placing third, and Anne Gunn (acting) won men’s consolation with a score of 146.
