Ipswich is offering free parking to boost its town center. The free parking deal lasts ten weeks. This aims to get more people shopping there.

You can park for free Thursdays, 3 PM to midnight. Go to Apex Blackfriars car park on Foundation Street. This starts next week, February 20th and the trial ends April 24th.

Ipswich Central BID made this happen with the car park. People often complain about parking costs, thus they hope free parking will attract shoppers and support local businesses.

Leave the car park before midnight. Get a ticket at entry or use license plate recognition, then just drive straight to the exit, ignoring the payment machines.

The goal is getting more people to visit the town. They will use footfall data to see if it works. If successful, they might continue the program.

Apex Parking is happy to work with the BID. Together, they want to encourage more customers and help stores in Ipswich.
