Navy veteran Arthur Lloyd, who served on the King George V, passed away February 8. Funeral is March 6 in Mold.

Arthur was a Navy veteran who served in World War II on the King George V battleship, holding the rank of petty officer.
Brian Lloyd, Arthur’s brother and the Mayor of Mold, shared that Arthur wanted to celebrate Victory over Japan Day. Brian said that Arthur was a great family man who told his kids stories about his service.
Arthur enjoyed a good life, and his close family cared for him. He lived on Bridge Street in Mold and was a long-time supporter of Wrexham AFC; his family helped him stay independent.
He worked at a lead mine in Halkyn, and later, at John Summers Steelworks, retiring as a fitter. Arthur’s wife Blodwen passed away before him.
He was a dad to David, Carolyn, and Elaine, and was the sibling of Brian, Cyril, and Blodwen. He was also a grandad and great grandad.
The funeral is scheduled for March 6, 2024, at 11am at St Mary’s Parish Church, followed by burial at Mold Cemetery.
