Galashiels will again celebrate local businesses. These businesses make Gala a great place. The awards started in 2023. Public votes have grown since then.

Emily McGowan of McGowan Marketing made it happen. Previously, the “Build a Better Gala” project funded it. McGowan managed awards for two years.

Her team got local businesses to sponsor them. They ensured the event could continue happening.

Gary Souden’s Fonehouse Galashiels is the main sponsor. He is excited to support the town. He wants to celebrate talent and community.

He looks forward to meeting other businesses. The awards have four new categories this year. They recognize diverse achievements. New categories include Business and New Business of the Year. Health & Fitness and Sports Club also join.

Other categories stay. These are Retail & Shopping, Food & Drink, Beauty, Hair & Care, Service & Repair, Community & Charity, and Leisure & Entertainment.

Borders firms sponsor each category. Gala Rugby Club is an event partner. The Trophy Guy also partners with the event. You can vote on the Galashiels Heartland website.

McGowan noted community support is key. The awards celebrate special people and businesses. The community response has been amazing. More of the town’s achievements get recognized. Sponsors and partners make it possible. Tickets will be available to book quickly.
