Cops are questioning a man tonight. Several people were stabbed in Dublin. The knife attacks occurred in Stoneybatter shortly before 3 PM. A masked man allegedly went berserk and attacked people with a knife.

The man reportedly knocked on doors looking for people to attack. He slashed one man walking outside. Three men went to a hospital with stab wounds from the attacks. Two men suffered serious injuries, while one man’s injuries were less severe. Gardai said the injuries were not life-threatening, and the victims are all Irish, suffering slash-like wounds.

A man from South America got arrested, his face covered, in Manor Place, close to the attack scenes. He had two sets of scissors and threw a knife away. They took him to a Garda station, where he’s being questioned about the stabbings under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardai believe the attacks were random and not terror-related incidents. Officers secured the area and sealed off several streets right after attacks. The victims were attacked on three streets: Oxmantown Road, Manor Street, and Niall Street.

Gardai said a man in his late 20s got arrested and is detained at a Garda station. Three men aged mid-20s to mid-40s were assaulted and are at a hospital for treatment. Two have serious injuries, and one has less serious injuries. An unarmed Garda member detained him.

The drama started before 3 PM. Emergency services rushed to Oxmantown Road, near the North Circular Road location. Niall Street saw one victim attacked at home. Three areas nearby were sealed off as part of the investigation process. Traffic diversions got lifted later.

A shopkeeper heard someone shout and a customer said someone was hurt, so she called an ambulance. She couldn’t see anyone outside at that moment, but the services arrived quickly.
She learned what happened then and witnessed people going into an ambulance.

A witness on Niall Street heard a man shouting for help, saying he was stabbed. They saw him on the ground holding his neck and checked it. It was more like a slash, not a deep wound. He got up and said the attacker ran away.

The attacked man had moved in recently, returning home when he got attacked. Another woman saw a man wearing a dark hoodie near the scene. She thinks it was the arrested man.

A councillor went to the attack location after the events. He heard messages quickly through WhatsApp telling people to stay inside to be safe. An attacker moved across streets, he stated. Locals want those hurt to recover quickly. Garda presence reassures the community. They will stay there for days, and the community feels shocked, he adds.

Politicians reacted to the attacks, expressing their thoughts for victims and thanking the Garda and emergency services. Gardai asked for anyone with information to step forward. They want witnesses to contact them and any video footage from the area between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM.
