The annual event took place on February 15th. Many gardening fans came to find seed potatoes to get the best selection.

The event had many potato types, some varieties not sold in shops. People could also buy garlic and onion sets, as well as vegetable and flower seeds. Fruit bushes and trees were also present.

FlintShare organized the event. FlintShare is a volunteer group that grows organic food at three sites in Hawarden, Cilcain, and Northop.

Over eighty potato types were shown, each with a photo and fact label. Matthew Smith gave advice to customers; he sells seed potatoes at his nursery.

Hazel and Pedr Roberts attend every year. They like seeing what is available, and this time, they looked at seeds.

Tinna and Ella Arnardottir visited for the first time. Tinna liked the rhubarb crowns, and they also planned to look at potato sets. They enjoy growing food in their allotment and garden.

The event explained potato types, the names of which depend on planting and harvest times. Planting at different times extends the harvest, so you can harvest from June to November.

Potatoes are planted in March or April after the frost is gone. Disease-free seed potatoes are important to prevent diseases from the prior year.

The Mayor of Mold, Brian Lloyd, attended. Janet Wainwright spoke about the day, stating she likes seeing enthusiastic growers at the event.
