Giffnock’s New £56m Leisure Centre Given the Go Ahead by Planners

Eastwood Park is getting a new complex in Giffnock. It will have a large swimming pool with eight lanes, and a smaller learner pool is planned as well. There will also be a fitness suite and three fitness studios giving more options. A games hall will have four courts.

The theatre will be much bigger and better, including a studio theatre. A bar will complement the theatre setup. The new complex will open in late 2027. They will then tear down the old buildings.

The council says this is important because the old facilities are over forty years old and don’t work well anymore. They want to give residents better amenities. This will benefit people for years.

The new building will be next to the old one, so people can still use existing facilities during the construction period. Planners approved the plans on February 12. Building should start later this year after some early work happens first. The council will talk to important people before starting main construction.
