Glasgow residents will see a 7.5% council tax increase. The rise funds essential services, schools, and infrastructure.

The council tax is going up by 7.5%, quite a big jump this year. A portion helps with cleaning and repairs, with 2.5% going to more cleaning staff. It also helps fix roads and parks.
They will spend £3 million on school lunches for pupils in primary six. Another £3 million covers primary seven next year. Every area will also get Clean Teams to tackle problems like illegal dumping.
They have planned £1.5 million for street cleaning, and deep cleaning teams will get £1.4 million more. Road repairs will receive £20 million total, which also includes pavements and bike lanes. Social work gets an extra £4 million.
Swimming pools and libraries stay open longer, costing half a million pounds. Ricky Bell said it addresses Glasgow’s needs and invests in key services and families. Jon Molyneux said Greens helped shape it, boosting social work and climate efforts.
