Amey works for Transport Scotland. They must inspect bridges near the M8 Kingston Bridge. This work starts Monday, March 17 and will happen each weeknight from 8 PM to 6 AM. Glasgow city center roads will close during this time.

On March 17, A804 North Street closes between Broomielaw and Argyle Street. Westbound traffic follows a detour: cars go on Broomielaw to Anderston Quay, then to Finnieston Way and Congress Way. After that, drivers will use Pointhouse Road and Finnieston Street before taking the A814 Expressway. Eastbound traffic uses Broomielaw, going to Brown Street and Argyle Street.

The A804 Newton Street also closes on March 17 between Argyle Street and Broomielaw. Westbound cars use Argyle Street eastward, going to James Watt Street and Broomielaw. Eastbound drivers follow Argyle Street westbound, then use Clydeside Expressway and Finnieston Street, next is Lancefield Quay to Broomielaw.

On March 18, A804 Newton Street closes again between Argyle Street and Broomielaw. Westbound traffic diverts using Argyle Street, then Clydeside Expressway, next, it’s Finnieston Street and Lancefield Quay, ending with Broomielaw. Eastbound cars use Argyle Street, then James Watt Street, finally, they reach Broomielaw.

On March 19, Argyle Street westbound has lane closures, with two lanes towards Clydeside Expressway shut between Newton Street and North Street. Drivers turn onto North Street first, then use St Vincent Street and Newton Street. They follow Argyle Street, James Watt Street, and Broomielaw, before finally being back on North Street.

On March 20, Argyle Street westbound closes two right-turn lanes between Newton Street and North Street. Cars continue to Clydeside Expressway, using Finnieston Street and Congress Way. Next, Pointhouse Road, and the route ends with Clydeside Expressway eastbound. A804 Newton Street (Argyle to Broomielaw) also closes eastbound; eastbound cars use Argyle Street, James Watt Street, and Broomielaw.

On March 21, Argyle Street eastbound closes between Newton Street and North Street. Drivers continue onto Clydeside Expressway again, then Finnieston Street and Congress Way follow. Pointhouse Road completes the route, and then traffic goes to Clydeside Expressway eastbound.

The M8 Junction 18 Anderston off-slip also closes that night. Drivers stay on the M8 westbound, then take the M8 Jct 20 off-slip. Next, go to West Street, Kingston Street, and Commerce Street, use A77 George V Bridge. After, it’s Broomielaw to Brown Street, finally, Argyle Street.

The M8 Junction 17 on-slip is also closed. Cars go via Charing X southbound, taking A804 St Georges Road southbound. Use A804 Newton Street after, with the route ending at M8 Jct 18 Newton Street on-ramp.

Amey asks drivers to be aware that other roadworks happen across the M8 through Glasgow. Any vehicle using the diversion through the LEZ must follow signs; Glasgow may issue penalties if drivers stray from the route.
