Historic factory buildings transforming into offices, studios, café, & workshop spaces with sustainable construction.

The project will focus on sustainability. They plan to use net-zero construction, and energy-efficient tech will also be used. The builders want to retain the building’s character and keep its original feel. They will use green heating, and the project shows off sustainability well.
In April 2024, they got planning permission. This includes work on Baily’s tannery and chimney. A bat license was granted in July 2024, and emergency chimney repairs began. Asbestos was removed too, and they installed supports to keep things stable.
Main construction starts in February 2025. Building West will get done first. Glastonbury Town Deal is funding it, and they gave £6.3 million for this phase. Work should finish by March 2026.
The buildings belong to a regeneration trust. The Trust got the buildings in 2011, and they want the community to use them. Restoring the old tanneries took years. The town will see work starting soon, and scaffolding is going up in coming weeks. This hub means business and learning, bringing life back to old buildings, and it creates jobs for Glastonbury.
