GO Local Food starts crop share distribution on April 1. They will use The Hextol Foundation’s Gilesgate office. The goal is to promote seasonal eating. You will get fresh, local veggies that avoid chemicals when growing them.

The food co-op adds other local produce and tries to use organic items if they can. GO Local Food wants you to connect with what you eat by learning where your food comes from. You can also see how they grow it.

This partnership helps Hexham’s locals by making getting sustainable veggies easier. The Hextol Foundation supports people by offering work for those with learning disabilities. They also assist people with mental health issues.

Bruce Howorth, the Chief Executive of The Hextol Foundation, checked the fields to plan the partnership. A launch event happens March 7 for the Hexham collection. It is at Hextol Tans Café from 4:30 pm to 7 pm.

The event will have tasty snacks that use local ingredients. You can learn about how they grow food using sustainable methods that avoid chemicals. You can also see how to get weekly shares, with the new Hexham location making it easy.

Meet other people interested in local food and talk about sustainability and community. Show support for the Hextol Foundation. The event has limited spots.

The Hextol Foundation helps many people and needs more funds to keep going. It’s a charity in Hexham that makes a difference.
