Darren Gosling, 52, of Goole, was sentenced to seven years, four months for child sex offences after a York court hearing.

He admitted possessing indecent images. They found him guilty of other charges. These involve sexually assaulting a child under 13. He also incited a child to sexual activity.
York CID started investigating Gosling. They received reports about a child’s sexual assault. North Yorkshire Police arrested Gosling on November 19, 2021. Police seized his phone after arresting him. They found many indecent images of kids. Eight were Category A, the most serious type.
Detective Constable Gemma Illidge spoke about the case. She praised the victim’s bravery. The victim spoke out about Gosling. She said they thank her for trusting the police. She hopes this helps other abuse victims come forward.
