The Sughra Mosque in Farnworth celebrates its grand opening after a decade long rebuild, uniting the community.

Mosque President Haroon Rashid spoke about the rebuild, stating that it used to be an old factory building. The local community sponsored the project, completing it at half the expected cost.
Rashid stated the mosque is beautiful and is now one of the biggest in the North West. Many young people watched the project unfold as the community united to realize it.
Rashid added that everybody worked together on this project, involving all parts of the community. The mosque engages with local schools. Many community members, councillors, and dignitaries attended the opening.
Councillor Nadeem Ayub thought it looked awesome, both inside and out. He said the mosque complements the regeneration at Farnworth Green.
Councillors Hamid Khurram, Mohammed Ayub, and Akhtar Zaman attended the opening. Plans began in 2014 because people wanted to replace the old building. A three-story mosque replaced it.
The new mosque is purpose-built, providing spaces for prayers. The 2014 plan included an IT suite, library, classrooms, and two washing areas.
