Schools in Gravesend and Northfleet closed after malicious emails. A 17-year-old girl from Gravesend was arrested.

Police got the first report early in the morning. It was about a school in Northfleet. Other schools in Gravesham got similar emails too. Officers went to the first school and talked to the staff there.
Eight schools had to deal with this issue, including Lawn Primary School, Copperfield Academy, St Boltoph, and Shears Green. Some schools shut down for a bit.
Lawn Primary told parents to keep kids home, saying the school was closed due to a threat. Kids at school were kept safely locked inside. Police didn’t say what the emails contained, but thought the threat wasn’t real.
The police stayed around to calm people. Later, they arrested a girl from Gravesend, who’s seventeen years old, for harassment. She is still in custody now. The police investigation continues.
A police chief said safety is their top priority and they acted fast when they learned about the emails. They quickly decided the threat was probably not real. The police know this worried many people.
An arrest has been made, so that should help. The police are still investigating the event. If you know anything, call Kent Police at 01474 366149, case number 46/24986/25. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555111.
