Police are investigating hoax threats which prompted school closures and increased security measures in Gravesham.

Police went to the school right away and will stay there today to help. Other schools near Gravesham also received emails. While the police don’t believe the threat is real, they are still looking into things.
Some schools might have told kids to stay home, or parents may have been asked to pick them up. Not all schools took these measures. Some are simply being extra careful and adding more security. Lawn Primary, Copperfield Academy, and St Boltoph C.E Primary might be affected.
The schools involved have not released statements about the situation. St John’s Catholic Primary, Manor Community Primary, and Painters Ash Primary did not receive the emails.
A police spokesperson said they learned about the threat at 7:52 AM, concerning an email sent to a school on Packham Road. Police assisted the school staff and will remain nearby to reassure people. Other schools received similar emails, and the police provided staff with advice. The police do not believe the emails pose a real threat but are continuing their investigation.
