A great-grandad brandished a gun at his granddaughter in a pub after his wife’s ashes went missing, leading to a five year sentence.

Martin Gordon, aged 64, walked toward his relative with a pistol at the Samson and Lion pub. He tried hiding the weapon, and he wore a light blue shirt and gold jewelry. His grandson intervened with a baseball bat.
Witnesses recorded the family fight and then shared the video online. Police arrived around 1 p.m. and found Gordon in a black Range Rover at an industrial estate.
Police removed him from the car and handcuffed him on the ground. Gordon targeted his family because of the missing ashes. Police found other items, including blank bullets, a pick axe, and two tasers.
A live bullet was also found in his kitchen sink. Gordon faced charges, including firearm possession and unlicensed ammunition, as well as two counts of possessing a taser.
Gordon claimed robbery caused his actions, stating he lost £200,000 and bought the gun for protection. He received a five-year jail sentence on February 13.
Police arrested Gordon forty minutes after the call and found bullets in his pocket with the gun still in the car. Gordon, whose address is Brierley Hill Road, Wordsley, admitted possessing the firearm.
Detectives said Gordon showed the gun in public and made no attempt to hide it. Officers located and recovered the gun quickly. Police are committed to fighting gun crime by taking weapons off the streets and imprisoning offenders.
