Signal cable theft causes cancellations between Broxbourne and London Liverpool Street. Passengers face disruption.

Don’t travel between Stansted Airport and Cambridge, Hertford East, and London Liverpool Street. Wait for updates before you head out. Trains will be canceled, late, or changed a lot; it’s a mess right now.
This problem will probably last a while, so today’s train tickets are now good for tomorrow. That’s Thursday’s tickets valid Friday, February 21, 2025.
Greater Anglia posted on X about it, saying cables were stolen in Hackney last night, which messed up the Liverpool Street and Cheshunt line via Seven Sisters.
Network Rail worked hard all night fixing it, but planned work north of London between Tottenham Hale and Cheshunt didn’t finish. The cable problem made it too hard.
Network Rail is trying to reopen the line quickly; however, they’re facing some hard problems doing this and don’t know when it will be fixed yet.
You can use your ticket on other trains now, like Great Northern between Hertford North and Moorgate, or Ely and London Kings Cross. Thameslink from Cambridge to St Pancras helps, and the London Underground is an option as well.
