Greenfields Day Nursery opens a new center in Blackwood, creating jobs and supporting local businesses.
They even got a £25,000 grant from the UK Government. The money came from the Shared Prosperity Fund.
The nursery plans to create around 25 new jobs. They offer care for babies and young children and have options for before and after school. Holiday care is available too. Spaces for 68 children exist.
Greenfields will buy food from local suppliers. A nearby company will handle the laundry service. They will also partner with Blackwood Rugby Club, and staff will get discounted gym memberships, which is nice. The owner said the grant made it all possible, and Caerphilly Council’s support was also key.
The nursery has security features like buzzer entry. CCTV cameras keep everyone safe. Inside, they divided the space into three zones. There’s a zone for three to five year olds, and another zone exists for two to three year olds.
The top floor is just for kids under two. It has play and sleeping areas. Greenfields accepts tax-free childcare payments and also takes childcare vouchers. This helps working parents fund childcare costs and eligible families can claim 30 hours of care each week.
