Green councillors win £420,000 for projects. It focuses on climate, community, and the environment.

At the Gloucestershire County Council, while setting the budget for next year, they secured £420,000 for local stuff. The Green group made some helpful proposals that led to this outcome.
The Climate Action Fund will get £50,000, and car club exploration will also get £50,000. Additionally, a Master Composter coordinator gets £60,000, spread over two years.
Libraries of Things will get another £50,000, and community libraries will each see £7,500. This funds repairs and maintenance for them, building on what they already receive.
The veteran bus pass program receives £50,000. Natural flood management gets support of £100,000, which the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust will handle, focusing on supporting urban areas.
Chloe Turner said the Greens prioritize services and support for communities, nature, and climate. Cate Cody added that the veteran bus money helps greatly, letting veterans access jobs and services.
Although other groups’ ideas did not pass, the Conservatives added funding to their budget, increasing money for flooding and young people. Since 2021, the Greens have secured £1.4 million, supporting vital help to communities.
