Grenfell survivor shocked as Siderise challenges ban linked to tower fire. Firm insists products safe.

Emma O’Connor escaped the 20th floor. She used a lift with her partner. She is surprised by Siderise Insulation Ltd’s legal challenge. Siderise made some cavity barriers for the building’s update.
They are challenging Kensington and Chelsea council. They claim the ban is unfair. The council banned Siderise in December. Five other firms were previously banned because of the fire.
Siderise says their products meet ban criteria. Siderise says they did not cause the fire or its spread. They claim they were honest with the Grenfell Inquiry. The company believes the ban lacks reason.
Siderise wants to protect its reputation. They supply products around the world. The council says they still support their decision to ban. The Inquiry found no proof Siderise acted dishonestly.
Some of their marketing materials were concerning. Siderise supplied barriers for larger gaps. These gaps were bigger than tested sizes. Siderise produced Lamatherm cavity barriers. These were used in the Grenfell refurbishment.
Siderise says their products always work correctly. They say their marketing was ambiguous, not incorrect. They expressed sympathy about the fire. Siderise claims they are not to blame.
They mentioned being recognised for good work conditions. The Inquiry found their barriers did not cause the fire.
