A police detective, Wayne Jolley, led the investigation. He said Ursula’s life ended terribly and expressed sympathy for her loved ones after Clark’s conviction. Clark lied about his involvement in Ursula’s death, denying any part in it to the police. The detective thanked witnesses for helping the investigation and piecing together the events.
On March 20, 2024, paramedics responded to a 999 call made by Clark from Ursula’s apartment, which was in a retirement complex. The call came in just after 3 AM.
Paramedics discovered Ursula unresponsive on her living room floor and tried to save her life. Sadly, she was pronounced dead around 4 AM. Paramedics told investigators about the death, and detectives went to her flat. They noticed Ursula had many injuries, suggesting something wasn’t right.
Clark was there when police arrived. He said he stayed at Ursula’s that night and claimed he found her unconscious. Police noticed his story had problems, and they arrested him for murder on March 22.
Clark said he left Ursula’s flat and returned several times before the death, but CCTV showed he never left for two days prior. This contradicted Clark’s story to the police. Police found evidence Clark abused Ursula before, while a postmortem revealed she died from neck compression, confirming the cause of death by the medical examiner.
The court will sentence Clark on Friday, and everyone waits to see what the judge will say at the sentencing hearing.
