Steven Bremner admitted to owning ammo at Teesside Crown Court. He received a six-month conditional discharge.

The 33-year-old admitted to the ammo offense at Teesside Crown Court recently. He was arrested after an incident last year.
The incident occurred on Union Street in Guisborough around 10:10 AM on October 16. Thankfully, no one suffered injuries. The prosecution used CCTV footage of the area, clearly showing Bremner.
Police then searched Bremner’s Guisborough home, finding two shotgun cartridges there. Bremner lived on Raithwaite Close. He pleaded guilty to unauthorized ammo possession.
His lawyer, Tom Bennett, asked for leniency, noting Bremner was jailed since arrest. Judge Richard Clews spoke to Bremner directly. Possessing such items is very unwise, he said; these items only cause harm to people.
The judge noted Bremner’s criminal record isn’t great, but since his last release, only two minor offenses appear on his record. He already spent four months in custody awaiting trial and the first charge ended in a not guilty verdict.
The judge stated prison wasn’t usually needed for this. Bremner received a six-month conditional discharge, meaning no current punishment for him now, as he served more time than he should have. The judge warned him about re-offending, stating if he commits another crime in six months, this case will affect him, and he could face a harsher penalty.
