Wales has St David Awards. They started back in 2014. Eluned Morgan announced the award contenders. These awards honor people across Wales, recognizing achievements in many fields. Categories include bravery, business, and culture. Other categories are sport and volunteering.

There is also a special award. An independent panel selects finalists using nominations from people in Wales. The First Minister then chooses winners. You can see the full list of finalists.

Olly Williams from Newport is a finalist nominated for the Young Person Award. Olly is eight years old and helps care for his sisters, who all have complex needs. Olly is dedicated to his family.

James Ball and Steff Lloyd are also finalists, up for the Sport Award. James is a para-cyclist, and Steff is his cycling partner. They both are from Ponthir and won gold at the 2024 Paralympics.

Dr. Inderpal Singh is another finalist, nominated for tech innovation. He works at a health board and improves care for older people. Dr. Singh made a new digital system that manages fracture patients well.

Award winners get a special trophy, designed and made by a Welsh artist. The ceremony is on March 27, 2025, at the Senedd. Eluned Morgan spoke about the awards, saying they show the best of Wales.
