Michelle Hills admitted to driving while banned, having no car insurance, obstructing police, and cannabis possession.

She admitted to several charges earlier, including driving while banned, using a car with no insurance, obstructing a police officer, and possessing cannabis.
The prosecutor, Shane Maddocks, told the court that Hills had received a three-year driving ban last year, starting on August 8. Then, on October 23, police saw her driving in Wrexham. Checks confirmed she owned the car and that she was already banned.
Police stopped her car and officers recognized Michelle Hills driving. However, she claimed to be someone else. But she finally admitted her true identity and that she was banned. Police then found cannabis joints in her bag.
Laura MacMillan defended Hills in court, stating that Hills is 51 years old with no prior convictions before 2019. She explained that her client had a turning point then, nine years ago, when she had an accident causing a serious ankle injury.
MacMillan continued that Hills now suffers from chronic pain and a spine disease causing shooting pain. She also stated that Hills has mental health issues and housing problems, and that the car was originally a mobility car which was not taken after the ban started.
MacMillan detailed, that she gave into temptation that day, knowing her actions were wrong. Now, the mobility car is gone, and likewise, the temptation. Hills tried cannabis for pain relief, but did not actually like it.
The court then gave their verdict. The court gave Hills a community order lasting 12 months, requiring her to attend 20 rehab days and receive mental health help, in addition to a £50 fine.
Finally, she must pay a £114 victim surcharge, plus court costs of £85. She now also has a four-year driving ban.
