Hey, something happened in Hackney. Police got a call about a fight on Bodney Road. It happened around 6 PM on Tuesday.

A 20-year-old died there. Ambulance folks tried to help him. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested two guys. The men are 23 and 25. They were arrested for suspected murder and are still in custody now.

A police supervisor, Vicky Tunstall, spoke. She said the police are thinking of the family and thanked people in Hackney for their help. Residents will see more police around there, she added, stating that there is more work to do, and the police are still investigating.

Contact police if you know anything. Call 101 and mention 5635/17FEB. Check dashcam or doorbell footage from Tuesday from 5:30 PM onward.

This death is the fifth stabbing death in London this year. Four victims were adult men. One was a 14-year-old boy named Kelyan Bokassa. He was stabbed many times on a bus in Woolwich, route 472, on January 7.

The Home Office announced new plans on Wednesday to fight knife crime. Stores must report suspicious knife sales. Selling knives to kids will face a longer sentence. Illegal blades will also get a harsher sentence, with the jail time now being two years.

These plans are called Ronan’s Law, named after Ronan Kanda. He was killed by mistake. His killers bought knives without ID.
