Hair by Faye in Blackburn vies for Lancashire Telegraph’s Best Hairdresser title. Faye Sharratt’s salon is popular for extensions.

Faye Sharratt is known for extensions and coloring styles like balayage. She opened her salon two years ago and became popular fast. Faye said she feels amazed by the nomination. Winning would mean the world to her, she explained. Opening her own salon was a dream, and being nominated is a huge achievement.
Faye learned her skills at Nigel’s Cut Shop, which was open in Blackburn for 47 years. She then rented a chair at Serenity, after which she started her salon. Her salon built a strong customer base since opening. Five other hairdressers rent chairs in her shop too.
Faye says they create a comfy atmosphere and are relaxed and friendly to customers. The salon is a nice environment to be in, she believes, and they also do really amazing hair. Faye loves going to work at her salon. She built up her clientele since she opened it, loves all her clients, and work is succeeding.
They are always busy with extensions and colors. Balayage is popular, as well. Faye says it’s a team effort to keep standards high, even though her employees are self-employed.
Faye opened her store just after the pandemic. The shop adapted to the cost-of-living crisis and continued to grow despite challenges.
