Cleo, Halstead’s well-loved cat, hitched a ride in a police car and was safely returned home.

One Sunday, it was raining hard, and Cleo jumped into a police car to get dry. Officers Macmillan and Johnson were patrolling nearby and saw Cleo, so they opened the window. Cleo hopped inside and got comfy.
She took a nap on the shelf in the back and sharpened her claws on the seats. Then, she groomed herself, shed fur, and even kneaded her paws on their laps. The officers thought Cleo was a great passenger.
They checked her microchip to find her owner and then drove her home to Carly Thomson, who has four kids. Carly was worried at first when the police arrived, thinking Cleo might be hurt. But they said Cleo just jumped in their car. Cleo slept on Carly’s daughter’s bed that night.
Carly created the Facebook page for Cleo, and locals post pictures of Cleo’s adventures there. Carly knows Cleo is okay when she sees the posts.
Someone once stole Cleo and took her home. Because Cleo was missing, Carly asked for help. Everyone looked for her around town, putting up posters and sharing photos.
Cleo is very popular, so they quickly found her. She also visits Factory Lane Autos often, watching the mechanics work on cars. Carly just says hello to Cleo there.
Carly thinks Cleo is funny and social. The cat loves everyone, and everyone loves her.
