Haltwhistle’s public toilets are getting a £1.35m upgrade as part of a county-wide scheme to modernize facilities, starting after Easter.

The council really wanted these upgrades. The county council first made plans, and town council efforts improved the plan. Work should start after Easter.
These toilets are in the town center, and they have been in bad shape. The building is old and important, so it needs some work done.
Councillor Alan Sharp pushed for upgrades. Other town councillors supported it too, and County councillor Ian Hutchinson helped. The town council is thankful.
The toilets will be modern and work well. The work will keep the building’s charm. The town council will watch and give updates.
John Riddle is a cabinet member. He knows good toilets are important. They listened to town and county leaders, and a great upgrade plan is starting.
Ian Hutchinson is a county councillor. He is happy to start the project, and it will be done before summer tourism. He gave money for the town center toilets.
Alan Sharp leads the town council and is also a county councillor. This shows the councils working together, as they want great local facilities. Work begins soon.
The council invests £1.35 million. This is a three-year plan, and they will improve all 54 public toilets, as the council is responsible for them.
