A Hampshire man admitted to driving a HGV while banned in Flintshire and driving without insurance.

The first driving offense happened in December 2023. Green drove without a seatbelt in Yorkshire. Police stopped him, discovering he was banned. The court was told Green knew about the ban.
Green drove again on February 5th. This was while a ban from November 2024 was in place. Police saw a large truck carrying a caravan in Flintshire. They followed it to Deeside Industrial Estate to stop. Green drove the truck.
He said he had no permit for the load. He admitted to the police he was banned. He also said he lacked a truck driving license. An officer was shocked by this.
Green said he moved the caravan for himself. He claimed he was taking it home. The closest holiday park was near Prestatyn. The court said he ignored court orders. He also had no insurance.
Green wanted to get a caravan for his family. He saw it online and borrowed a truck. He works as a travelling showman in his family’s business. The business is based in the Thames Valley.
Green’s lawyer said he works at funfairs. He sets up and watches over rides. He feels bad about what he did. The lawyer said he will not do it again. Green has seven kids and supports his family.
The court gave Green a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for one year. Green must do 180 hours of unpaid work. He also needs 20 days of rehab activity. He got banned from driving for 18 months. It was ordered that he pay a victim fee of £154. He also must pay £85 for each of two cost instances. The insurance charge had no extra penalty.
